Who We Are

The Purple Youth is a website dedicated to politics, culture, sport and more. All from the perspective of a diverse group of opinionated, informed, and intelligent teenagers.

TPY as a whole does not have any political leaning. As a group we present the reader with a myriad of political and social philosophies. You may see two conflicting, sometimes completely antithetical articles follow each other. Hell, we may even have two writers trying to convince you that the other is wrong! We can do this because there is no grand philosophy to which all our writers must subscribe to. We are not “moderates”. No two writers on TPY are the same. We have taken great care in selecting writers who specifically see the world through varying lenses, lenses that always remain crystal clear, but tinted to varying degrees in their own unique way.

Yet we do not let labels such as “conservatism”, “libertarianism” and so on, typecast our opinions. We are not shackled by these conventions. Rather than try and force ourself into a mold, we let the mold naturally take its shape.

TPY has one goal: To have an impact. TPY isn’t some product of our massive egos in which we can show the rest of the world how smart and politic-y we sound. TPY rather is the product of an immense love for our country and a recognition of how earth-shatteringly important the topics we will deal with are. We put the time and effort into this site because the topics we cover, out of necessity, must be argued, supported, and criticized at the highest level of discussion and dialogue possible.
